Can it be summer ALREADY??
As I catch up on blogging, I feel as though I'm in a time warp. How can this much time have passed?
I really feel the effects of my disease when the outdoor thermometer goes above 80. We'll be heading for temperatures in the 90's--100's (that's Fahrenheit), humidity in double digits, and heat indices in TRIPLE digits in the coming two-three months. I become almost a prisoner in my house, and I pray for the air conditioner to keep working. If it keeps the indoor temperature down to 80 degrees F., it is working pretty well. However, since part of Fabry's is hypo-hydrosis, or not sweating enough, I overheat really quickly. The fatigue which is a 24/7 companion becomes overwhelming in the heat.
As an example, today I awoke mid-morning, having taken some sleep meds at 2 am after tossing and turning (it was 85 degrees in here). I arose, went outside to feed my cats, put water out for them and my 2 doggies, came in, switched on the computer, and got ready to make coffee. After checking e-mails and eating breakfast, I felt really groggy, so I went into my bedroom about noon to lay down for a bit. I awoke at 5 pm! A day totally lost!
Fabry's really sucks. With the help of about 4 cups of coffee, I'm now functional to get a few things accomplished this evening. I can't wait to get approval to begin treatment for this danged disease. I feel as though I'm a drain on the planet on days like this!
But God is good, and He provides for my needs, so I just trust, pray, and obey!
Blessings on all who read and all who post.
